Dr. Andrew Kramer

Picture
Dr. Kramer  has a passion for eye care and helping people see better. His office - Kramer Family Eyecare - is located in Columbia, Missouri.

Born in Missouri and raised in Illinois, Kramer returned to Missouri to earn a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering at Washington University, St. Louis.  Deciding that Chemical Engineering was not really his passion he decided a change was in order. Kramer had always be fascinated by childhood visits to his Grandpa, an optometrist. Thinking about this and the amazing complexity of the human eye, Kramer realised that this could easily become a "passion" and that more than anything, he wanted to do something which directly helped people.

Soon he was enrolled in University of Missouri, St. Louis on a new career path; that of a Doctor of Optometry.  Graduating at the top of his class Kramer went on to complete a residency with the Veterans' Administration in Lexington, Kentucky. After which he returned to St. Louis where he taught optometry for a a time at UMSL and commuted to Columbia to work at Dr. Dellande's practice. Kramer would soon become a partner in the practice and later purchase it when Dellande retired.

In 1990 Kramer moved to Columbia to increase his time with the thriving practice and to teach at the Mason Eye Institute.  Kramer gave up teaching in 1993 to concentrate on private practice. His teaching focus shifted to his own team of employees with the goal that his practice could provide the very best eye care to the people of mid-Missouri.

Kramer continues to reside in Columbia with his wife Gail. They are proud "parents" to Molly a miniature schnauzer, In addition to caring for his patients Kramer has a love for Celtic music, hiking, and travel.
